【摘要】:Thepurposeofthisclassificationistoidentifypotentialconcernsandeffectswhichmayoccurduringthelifecycle(installation,service,removal,anddisposal)ofinsulationmaterialsandaccessoriesresultingfromdirectcontactorindirectactionorevents.Thisclassificationdoesnotidentifyremedialorpreventivestepsthatmaybetakentocorrectpotentialproblemsorhazards;ratheritisintendedasachecklistthatwillmakeiteasiertodealconstructivelywiththesepotentials,andtodeterminewhat,ifany,specificrequirementsneedtobeaddedtootherstandardsconcerninginsulationmaterialsoraccessories.(SeeAppendixX2forsourcesofinformation.)Thisclassificationrecognizesthatproperhandlingandinstallationprocedurescansubstantiallyreducethepotentialconcernsandeffects.Further,itrecognizesthatinsomesituationsthepresenceorcreationofpotentialeffectsorhazardsresultsfromaninterveningactofhumanornaturalorigin,ordependsonaccesstoorcontactwiththematerialsoraccessories.Lackofcompatibilityoftheindividualcomponentsofaninsulationsystemwitheachotherortheenvironmentalconditionswithinwhichthesystemwilloperate,orboth,maycreateunanticipatedeffects.(SeeAppendixX3.)1.1Thisclassificationidentifiespotentialconcernsandeffectsthatcouldresultfromdirectcontactwiththermalinsulationmaterialsandaccessories,orbecausedbyindirectactionofeventssuchasaging,fire,orphysicaldisturbance.1.2IntentofClassification1.2.1Itistheintentofthisclassificationtoalertotherstopotentialconcerns,effects,hazards,orrisk.1.2.2Itisnottheintentofthisclassificationtoestablishthedegreeofriskorhazardorlimitingvaluesofpotentialhazards.1.2.3Itisnottheintentofthisclassificationtoestablishorrecommendmethodsormarkingstoreduceormitigatethepotential;however,itisrecognizedthatcorrectproceduresandprecautionarymeasurescansubstantiallyreduceoreliminatesomeofthepotentialconcerns,effects,hazards,orrisks.Note18212;Seeforcommentary.1.3Thisclassificationrecognizestheresponsibilityofproducersandusers,asappropriate,to:(1)provideinformationonknowneffectsorhazards,(2)adviseonestablishedsafetyandhealthpractices,and(3)determineapplicableregulatoryrequirements.1.4Thisclassificationdoesnotaddressthehealthandsafetyconcernsofthermalinsulationmaterialsandaccessoriesduringmanufacture.1.5Omissionofanitemfromthisclassificationdoesnotimplyanabsenceofpotentialconcernsoreffects.1.6Thereisnoimportanceintheorderoflisting.
