【摘要】:Splitdisktensiontests,properlyinterpreted,providereasonablyaccurateinformationwithregardtotheapparenttensilestrengthofplasticpipewhenemployedunderconditionsapproximatingthoseunderwhichthetestsaremade.Tensiontestsmayprovidedataforresearchanddevelopment,engineeringdesign,qualitycontrol,acceptanceorrejectionunderspecifications,andforspecialpurposes.Thetestcannotbeconsideredsignificantforapplicationsdifferingwidelyfromtheload-timescaleofthestandardtest.Note18212;ProcedureChasbeenusedonpolyethyleneandpolybutylenepipetoproduceresultsequivalenttoQuickBurstresults(TestMethodD1599)for4in.to8in.pipes.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthecomparativeapparenttensilestrengthofmostplasticproductsutilizingasplitdisktestfixture,whentestedunderdefinedconditionsofpretreatment,temperature,humidity,andtestmachinespeed.Thistestmethodisapplicabletoreinforced-thermosettingresinpiperegardlessoffabricationmethod.Thistestmethodalsoisapplicabletoextrudedandmoldedthermoplasticpipe.ProcedureAisusedforreinforced-thermosettingresinpipe;ProcedureBisusedforthermoplasticpipeofanysize;ProcedureCisusedforthermoplasticpipewithnominaldiameterof4x00BD;in.andgreater.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
